Pre and Post Frenectomy Care (Tongue and Lip Ties)

IMG_2415 (2).jpeg

Pre and post frenectomy manual therapy is important for infants with tongue and/or lip ties as it helps to optimize surgical outcomes and promotes better healing.

Pre-frenectomy care focuses on enhancing tissue flexibility/mobility and function, reducing tension and discomfort, and foundational oral exercises to prepare for motor pattern, control, and strength training after the procedure.

Post-frenectomy care helps to support tissue healing, reduces dysfunctional scar tissue formation, decreases tension and discomfort, and retrains normal oral-motor function and strength (suck training, latch/feeding mechanics, nasal breathing, etc.)

We love working with your baby's care team comprised of our favourite local IBCLCs and pediatric dentists who provide CO2 laser release.

As an integral part of your baby's care team, our infant chiropractors and massage therapists use gentle techniques to care for your baby head to toe.
